シンガポールの都市部や公園でもっともよく見られる鳥類の1種。インドネシアのジャワ，バリが本来の生息地であったが，シンガポールのほか，マレー半島，スマトラ，台湾，タイ，ティモールに移入し，各地で生息範囲が拡大。シンガポールでは1936年までは本種の記録はない。移入当初は郊外で見られるおとなしい性格の鳥であったが，その後，都市部の環境に適応し生息範囲を拡大したとされている。雑食性で都市部での生活に適用している。

One of the most common bird species in urban areas and parks in Singapore. Indonesia Java and Bali were the original habitats, but in addition to Singapore, they were introduced to the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Taiwan, Thailand, and Timor, and the range expanded in various places. There is no record of this species in Singapore until 1936. The bird was a initially regarded as a shy species of the suburbs, but it has adapted to the urban environment and expanded its range. It is omnivorous and applies to life in urban areas.
