Origin: Tropical America

熱帯アメリカ原産だが，現在では熱帯，亜熱帯域で広く植栽されている低木である。

十分な日当たりと土壌条件の良い場所を好み，風に対する耐性は低い。

花は香りがあり，シンガポールでは通年開花するが，実をつけることは少ない。赤，ピンク，黄，橙，白など多様な品種がある。

Temple tree is now extensively planteed throughout the tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world. It requires plenty of sun and preferably good soil, but cannot withostand high wind.

The flowers are fragrant and colourful, and occurs in various shades of red, pink, yellow, orange and white. The tree flowers all year round in Singapore, but seldom fruits.
