Origin: A Tropical America, 

 

熱帯アメリカのブラジルやメキシコ,ブラジル原産の落葉広葉樹。成長が早く,傘のように広い樹冠を形成するのが特徴で,シンガポールでは公園や道路沿いによく植栽されいて,シンガポールの景観を特徴づける樹木の一つ。

シンガポールには1876年に最初に導入された。

A lofty deciduous broad-leaved tree native to tropical America, Brazil, from Mexico to Peru. It is characterized by rapid growth and the formation of a massive umbrella-shaped widely spread crown. In Singapore, it is commnly planted in parks and roads to create an avenue or green tunnel. Rain tree is one of the trees that characterize Singapore's landscape. 

It was first introduced in Singapore in 1876.
