Origin: Singapore Peninsular Malaysia, Burma though Indo-Malaesia 

シンポール5ドル紙幣の裏面に描かれた樹木はこのTembusuであるという。

シンガポールの自生種で，成長は遅いがとても重く，硬くて耐久性の高い材質が特徴で，鉄道，橋，船舶，埠頭，家具,　まな板など幅広い用途で用いられ，価値の高い樹種とされている。

Tembusu is featured on the back of the $5 currency note in Singapore. Tembusu is a higly-valued native tree of Singapore. The wood is  heavy, hard and extreamly durable, and is used for a wide range of applications, including heavy construction, railroads, bridge, boat, wharves, furniture, chopping boards etc.
